Conquered by the Canal
We arrived just before the sun for some early morning TT fun!
That was hard...
Danbo done beat me again! Well done my friend! You are riding really well. Keep it up.
JB was about to go off when I was wrapping things up.
All in all the team did well. And it's really nice weather out there, so I think a little Horvath nature walk is in order...
Tomorrow will be a crit on the Langley Speedway. I've never ridden on a track before so this could be interesting. I'm looking for some good training so I will be doubling up and doing two races! 30+ and cat-3.

Father Daughter Banquet
Judy, Judy, Judy! Thats what most people say about ol girl. Tonight at her school was the annual Father Daughters Banquet. This is our second one. This one wasn't as good as last year's but I sure enjoy putting on a suit and having some quality time with my baby girl. She makes me so proud. I can't believe she just turned 6 yesterday. I know everyone says this, but it's true. Time really does fly
Why, I remember playing on the hospital bed before we took her home...
And then seeing who can scream the loudest (like a little girl)
And then theres the princess stage which has been around for a few years, and for a few more i'm sure.
She will always be my lil JuJubee!

This American Life
My ultimate favorite radio show is giving it a go on the tube, Showtime that is. Ira Glass kicks ASS!
There is some concern that the radio show will not work in a TV format. I agree that when I hear the stories I make up my own visions in my head. No worries, I don't have Showtime, and the radio show will go on regardless...

The Maiden Voyage
First ride on the CAAD 9 and all went well. I didn't have to make any adjustments, and nothing came loose. I'm suprised at the size difference from my old 57 to my new 56. Fits good though.
I'd like to thank Michael Hosang, and Jeff Lawson, Tri-Power, and Contes for helping us get a killa deal on these Team Frames.
Oh, and thanks Art! I scratched your name off of the box and put mine in place. C-mon, you were injured... (WHAT!?) Is this true? Mike, did that really happen? Ahhhhhh

SR Ride
Went out for a nice little Great Bridge to Pungo ferry bridge ride today after work. Met up with Gener at Tylers house, which happens to be the same street we used to live on... Tyler is an up and coming junior rider with great enthusiasm and motivation! The temps were in the low 80's and sunny, the wind was not too bad for that neck of the woods. It was a really good ride. Hopefully the Tues night crits fire up next week!
Kitty
During one of my many stops today, a small body shop in Smithfield is home to quite a few cats and dogs to which I've grown very fond of. I would Love to take home my fave, a calico whom I've named KC short for kitty cat. My allergies won't allow it. So over the weekend one of KC's buddies had kittins. Here's a photo of one of them. Just a little handful.

Mike V at the Dismal Dash
Both Gilbert and Mike are sporting these bad boys, and both made it out to the Dismal Dash today. Mike rigged his up with some profile aero bars... Pretty sweet! Happy recovering to ya'll. We should probably have races for these things.
There were some pretty fast and impressive times out there today!
It always amazes me the amount of folks who show up in mid March with this sweet form.
I'm happy with the Team results, you can tell that they're ready to defend the title once again.
Glad to see Kalerunning out there with their timing chips and almost instant results!
Thanks to Chesapeake Cycling Club and everyone else who played a part in making the Dismal Dash happen another year to officially kick off the road racing season!
Results can be found at kalerunning.com
And a special thanx to BJ and Gracen for the wonderful assortments of individual cakes for my birthday celebration week! Officially the day is the 20th. I'll be a young, funky, spunky 36!
A bunch of us had a good ol time at Baron's Pub post race.
See ya'll at the Jeff Cup...

whats Up!
Well this week sure has flown by...
Its Friday afternoon and I feel like I haven't blogged in like forever. I don't know who's hurting more from that---you or me!
Tues night was secret TT training with closing ceremonies. Closing meaning its probably time to get outside. Plus our location will no longer be avail. The first big test of the season comes this Sunday in the form of a Dismal Dash TT in Suffolk Va! I'm looking forward to having our friends at kalerunning take care of our times with their all too familiar chips! I know that I will beat my previous times, the question is by how much. I have been coming along really well in the TT aspect of cycling and I just want respectable times. Its a very long and windy course and unfortunately, the warm weather will be going somewhere else this weekend.
Wed was a busy day at work followed by picking up Judy's desk that will house her very own computer in her room. Of course I have to assemble it. So far I've put the chair together (woohoo). Of course I'll show you a pic or two. I dropped all that off and went to the doc in a box. My lower lip had been progressively swelling and getting more and more painful throughout the day. It gave me a really bad headache and blurred my vision. By the time I got to the Dr, it was the size of a golf ball ! They deemed it a bacterial infection cellutitis absess. We drained it (yuk) and gave me a heavy and aggressive anti-body and some pain killers for good measure. After a bunch more draining its finally down to normal. That night the in-laws came into town to stay with us till Sunday. Today is grandparents day at Judys school so they come up for that.
Stayed up really lat watching what I knew would be the NBA game of the year or more! Suns at Mavs. Suns win in double overtime. I believe Nash has punched his ticket for his 3rd MVP title even though he humbly says that Dirk should get it. On another basketball note, I think Kobe Bryants elbow is a racist!
Didn't watch LOST but recorded it.
Thur didn't feel like riding, but knew I should. Skipped the intense SR intervals and went to All About Bikes for their night ride. Just 4 of us out there. Bill was wearing my ass out even though he says he was just spinning. Ran into SR out there as they were just finishing up. When I rode from the house it was 83 degrees, and on the way back I had a wicked headwind at 55degrees! Ouch. Had to borrow a jacket from Bill (thanx).
Oh, and my new Berry came in the mail Thursday so I stayed up really late setting that bad boy up! Turns out mine was still under warranty. It never hurts to call the hurt line and ask them whats up.
Well-thats where I've been. Where you been? See ya'll real soon. Break time is up, back to work!
OK it's now Friday night nearing midnight and i'm still up. Went to the Roper Center to see Aladin with the fam. It was done really well, you should check it out!
Good to see Mike M in the parking garage. What do we do when we see eachother? Thats right, whip out our new BlackBerry's! He's sporting the new white pearl.
Took care of the Norfolk Cycling Classic on Bikereg---should be good to go.
Can't wait to get out early and freeze my tushy off!
Oi
