Off-Du
More on this later.... Getting ready to leave or the off road duathlon in york river state park. Very exciting--- wish me luck!
Well, it's now later--it is finished- ouch!
6th overall and 1st in age group. pretty sweet!
The start was awesome, uphill and on the road. Rob attacked like a wolverine, Todd answered and soloed away. I was leading a small chase group in third, when all of the sudden, i'm alone, and I hear nothing. Aw hell, I missed a turn. Mark yelled to me but I didn't catch that. It was an intersection where you could go straight or the correct way was to make a 180 to the right and up a couple of small switchbacks. Naturally I went straight, I was head down and red lining it. No markings there mind you. I got myself back in where I was and figured thats all I could do. I told the promoters of what had happened and where, and it was clearly un-marked. I almost did it again on lap 2. What kenya do...
The run was awesome! We went through some pretty adventurous stuff. I didn't run that great, but then again, I didn't expect too. The singletrack was sweet and flowy... Results are already up www.kalerunning.com that was fast!
A special thanx to all involved in bringing this race back! I look forward to doing it again.
My legs are already feeling pretty bad, tomorrow should be fun...
Nice trophy they gave out, Judy's gonna love it. I give her all the hardware, and bling. I take the money$
I gave her the trophy, and she says "it's not real glass daddy, it's fake" --Nice--
