A Ruff Week !

OK, so we all know about the crash I had at the tues nite Crit... Things are healing up rather nicely, but my whole left side is quite sore. And I have not pedaled a bike till today at the X-terra urban assault in Richmond VA. Some awesome trail system is laid out here!!! If you know the trail, you have an advantage. Crazy and I were running early so we decided to do a loop as a warm up which is 15 miles... (Wrong move sucka!) It as long and HOT... One of my new brake pads installed the previous night decided to work itself loose. I found it, but lost the pin that locks er in place. Crazy gave me one of his # plate ties and bingo, back on the saddle. My poor little road rash was not happy going over the rough and technical aspects of this trail. Each bump sent pains through my hip and forearm. And I was so scared of crashing on my healing flesh wounds. So we made it back in time for the start, lined up for the LeMans start and off we went. I didn't even make it one mile before my derailer got ripped out of my frame and caused massive destruction! My poor circa 1998 Trek 9800! I think she's finally done. I was trying to make er last a decade but oh well... On the bright side though, seeing everyone finish with evidence of multiple crashes, I'm glad I was forced out of the race early. If i went down on my fresh healing flesh I would be HOT!!! Crazy crashed a lot but finished well, Danbo finished well also while coughing up lungs. KJ, Maye, and Ed rebeled their way through the race without #'s cus they missed the cutoff for reg??? cmon people, they pre-registered! Give em a #! Liz did outstanding! Not crashing at all and finishing 3rd! I'm so proud, You Go Girl!!!
Then we had to boogey on back to Tidewater through traffic to the Ward's residence to celebrate Courtney's graduation from high school! You Go Girl ! Good luck at ODU.
Harlan, and Lisa, thanks for opening you're wonderful home to us and grilling up some fabulous meats! I think I had just about everything there was offered. The beverages were good too. Silly, you and J-bug are something else!
