Well it's been 3 weeks since I wrecked and I'm still messed up in the hip! My hematoma has finally subsided about 50% and a lot of the blood has found it's way to my inner thigh, hamstring, and along my I.T band. It's so nasty to be bruised up and down your leg, and you didn't even hit your leg? On the bright side, I'm not walking with a limp or much pain! I'm able to spin and if it doesn't thunderstorm after work like it has every day this week, I plan to do a group ride Thur night out at the Fat Frogs area! I was gonna give er a go Tues night but mother nature said na na! Oh yea, I raced Sunday at the tour de peake in the masters 30/40 cat. I didn't do anything but hold on, but it sure was fun being there. It's painful to watch races that you should be in... I could tell that I hadn't raced in a while by my HR going thru the roof. Ah well, it was to be expected. I knew I had nothing above holding on, so I got out of everybody's way for the sprint. Good racing to all in there! I will be doing the masters state road race this saturday. We'll see how that goes...
I want to thank the promoters of the Tour de Weekend for putting on the kids races both days! The kids races were heavily attended both days and the Judster had a stellar first two races on the road circuit on her new Specialized HotRock! We are so proud of her. They so badly want to ride, or race on the very same courses that mommy or daddy race on! Shoot, she raced more than I did last weekend.
This is a pic from Sundays race. I told her to grab Racin Gracens wheel for a leadout, but thats like telling someone not in the know to grab JD's wheel before a sprint ;-)
Both days she just chilled right behind the madness of the sprint. Smart move to get her feet wet. She'll be mixing it up in no time!

ReplyDeleteIt was a great move then, not a pattern. Was I really the first? THere must have been some wise ass, I mean person who put it all together before I did! I think you should make a list of all the TP pickups from over there. I can't count that high without a calculator.

Lil Mark, I know that you saw "lil" in the name of this post and you thought that this blog was all about you, but it was just a tiny coincidince.
